The custom cover I ordered failed in under a year. I even with the heavier duty core and double-wrap protection.

The make you jump through a bunch of hoops and hide behind a warranty that requires you to ship the cover back to the manufacture. The cost of shipping this cover is as much as buying the cover. Do not buy a cover from them. What they advertise is not what you get.

Their customer service was very bad and they were very rude. They basically said this is not our problem and they wash their hands of the issue.

I do not recommend buying a cover from them.

Find a dealer in your area and buy from them.

Monetary Loss: $500.

Sounds like Robert is a spa dealer pissed that he loses business to companies like Spa Depot, and Duratherm Spa Covers.

The quality of the Duratherm Spa cover I bought through Spa Depot appeared to be first rate, but for some reason, despite buying their top of the line double wrapped cover with all the options, it did not last but three years of the warrantied five. The problem is, the foam has become totally saturated and weighs too much now to handle easily, even with a cover lift.

I have to agree, that Spa Depot is pushing the problem off to the manufacturer, Duratherm. At first Spa Depot asked for photos, then more photos and a questionnaire, then they claimed that I have to seek warranty claim service from Duratherm, and to wait a week for any response. Duratherm did not respond to the warranty claim, yet. It has been a week. I have a very bad feeling about this...

I don't feel one bit sorry for you. Your the same cheap skate that comes into my store and proceeds to tell me you can buy the same cover a lot "cheaper" on line.

Well, now you know why huh? Sounds to me like you got "the deal" you were looking for....

As a consumer reading your comments, it makes me question your idea of customer service. Additionally, some of these sites are the actual manufacturers that the retail sites (like you) purchase from. How do I know? I spoke with a dealer who confirmed that one of the online sites I was reviewing was the manufacturer where they order ALL their covers from.

You comments seem to state you are aware of the current economic situation from your viewpoint, but fail to recognize that others are facing the same economic impact, and are simply trying to find a way to wisely spend their money. Stop attacking consumers and look at your business model to see how you can meet the changing purchase habits of consumers.
